3 Killed, 3 Injured In Plateau Fresh Attack–Irigwe Threatens To Boycott LG Polls

About three people were reportedly killed while three others sustain gunshots as unknown assailants launched an attack in Hukke village of Miango District Rigwe land, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Our correspondent gathered that the attackers invaded the village on Sunday midnight of 3rd October, 2021.
The Irigwe nation threatened to boycott the upcoming Local Government elections in the Plateau scheduled for 9th October 2021, if Government does not put an end to unwarranted killings in their land.
According to a press statement signed and issued to Journalists in Jos the state capital on Monday by Secretary General of Irigwe Development Association (IDA), Mr. Danjuma Auta said recently you will recalled that we have been receiving series of a commodore attacks when our people are ambushed and killed.
“The most recent was the one that happened at twin hills when two weeks back two were killed one sustain serious injuries, one again that took place at Ribakwa four killed and the one that took place yesterday which was an attack on the community of Hukke where three persons namely:those killed are identified as; Barry Ive 42 years, Isaiah Gado 45 years and Weyi Chohu 40 years respectively.
“Three persons sustained gunshot injuries and currently receiving treatment in various medical centers includes; Bosco Gbere 50 years,Barnabas Lundi 20 years and Moses Bombo 28 years”.
“You’ll agree with me that while the Irigwe man was busy exploring every necessary step in stopping anything that has brought any misunderstanding with the Fulanis, our people are now target of elimination as they have now divise a different way of eliminating us.
” And while this has continued, the authorities in the state has remain mute as if nothing was happening and we as a people cannot continue to watch this kind of negligence.
“We called on government to be more proactive, the security of lives and property of it’s people must be Paramount and if steps are not taken to address this unwarranted killing of our people, we as a nation would like to draw the attention of government that we’ll boycott the fourth coming LGAs election as a way of registering our grievances.
” We call on security operatives to intensify efforts in ensuring that this ugly killing is nip in the bud. Enough to all this because government knows exactly who the killers are and must fish them out”, Auta stated.
You would recall the Miango resurgence attack came exactly few days after Chief of Army Staff General Yahaya visited Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong where he promised that welfare and logistics of men and officers of the Nigeria Troops will continue to be his major priority.
Speaking to our correspondent through phone call, Plateau State Police public relations officer (PPPRO), ASP Gabriel Ubah confirmed that three persons were killed and others injured as a result of the attack.
He said security personnel deployed immediately at the scene of the incidence and normalcy has return.
He also revealed that investigation is ongoing to unrivaled the perpetrators of the heinous crime.
