The People Democratic party (PDP) primaries that was conducted yesterday  in Abia State, was a deceived one, and some members of the party have described it as false, due to the the emergence of the unknown persons, as the party flagbearers in the state.

According to the party members, it is an electoral show of shame that we are witnessing across the party in State, this PDP primaries, that is going on in the state now, have no doubt, that the party is going to have a misfortune at the general election, if care is not taking.

Never in the history of electoral contest in the State, have such absurdity been withnessed before.

Credible intelligence gathered from some sources at the Isuikwuato Local Government Council Mbalano, venue of the primaries, for that of the Federal House Of Representatives primary, sources rightly revealed, that some Journalists, that went to witness the primary were muscled out of the process, by being barred from covering the exercise by the so called Security agents, who were acting based on order from the above.

Some journalists who tried gaining access into the venue of the primaries, were either arrested by Security agents, or being beating up, as they were told only statutory delegates were allowed into the premises.

The Federal House of Representatives seat for that Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, saw one Hon Bar Loveth Ofoegbu, being announced winner of the primary, against the choice of the people, Chief Godwin Amobi Ogah.

It would be important to note that, at this point, that prior to this election, Chief Ogah was seen as the people’s choice.
This was going by the fact that the Onuaku Uturu born philanthropist, enjoy the good will of the people of the constituency, who believed he was the right candidate, that a task of this magnitude requires.
But as, the hope of the people was dashed out, with the constituency in shock, since the announcement of the result.

It was reliably garnered, that the choice of Barr Loveth Ofoegbu did not go down well with the people of the constituency, who described the election as a charade.

An attempt to speak to the delegates, all of them declined speaking to  newsmen, feeling disgusted with the entire exercise.

However, one of the Delegates who spoke on condition of anonymity, blamed the State government for the shabby primaries that was witnessed in the area yesterday.
According to him, it will require a miracle for the PDP to win the general elections in the area and in the state next year.

It was also gathered from another source, that the State Governor instructed all the delegates on the pattern of voting at the polls, withouth putting into consideration, the peoples interest.
A directive the Delegates carried out against their wishes.

Worthy of note is the fact that the so called PDP primaries that was held in the area yesterday, didn’t last up to thirty minutes.

It was also reliably gathered, that the Governor of the state already directed a PDP Chieftain in the State, who happened to be the governor’s in-law Chief Acho Nwakamma, and another Chieftain of the party in Umunneochi Local Government Area, to do the hatchet job of returning Barr Loveth Ofoegbu as the Party flagbearer in the Constituency, against the people’s choice, Chief Amobi Ogah.

It was not surprising that before the election, Barr Ofoegbu never existed. But immediately after the primary election,
She had to walked into a waiting vehicle unassuming, as someone who got what she never deserved.

There were other contestants to the State House of Assembly, who expressed disgust, over the poll conduct.

If feelers from members of PDP at the grassroots is anything to go by, today’s exercise may well spell doom for the party, thus signalling its political funeral in Abia State.

“How can the Governor decide who flies the party flag in our area” a worried member of the party had lamented ceaselessly.
