Federal government has condemned the notice given by the Academic Staff Union Of Universities (ASUU)to embark on a fresh strike, barely for months after calling off a 10 months industrial strike. The government, further stated that anybody conceiving a strike at this moment would be doing a disservice to the nation.

Accordimg to the Minister Of State For Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, he said whoever is conceiving a strike after being at home for close to one year, is damaging the educational system of the nation.

The minister went further by saying that he doesn’ support strike, but people can press for their demands as responsible as possible.
He said it is the responsibility of the government to engage them.

Some of the demand is what government can do now, while some is what they can do later. I’m sure you’re aware of the revenue base of the country, 1.5 million barrels of oil is sold daily. It is difficult to run the lives of more than 200 million people with less than $70m a day in earnings. Its amazing how the President has managed to keep the Country a float.
