Nasarawa NUT Wants Governor Sule To Implement 65 Years Retirement Policy Of FG.

The newly elected chairman, Nigerian Union of Teachers ( NUT) Comrade Muhammad Ishaq Isa, has called on the Nasarawa State Governor, Engr Abdullahi Sule to commence the implementation of the federal Governments policy of 65 years as the official retirement age of teachers.
Comrade Isa who disclosed this to journalists in Lafia after his election as the new State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, ( NUT) Nasarawa State branch at the weekend also urged the State Universal Basic Education Board ( SUBEB) to take over the affairs of primary, and junior secondary schools in line with the 2005 law establishing the board.
He further explained that the State is lacking teachers to teach both in primary, and secondary schools, hence the need for government at all levels to employ more teachers with a view to get more competent hands to teach in the schools.
Comrade Isa further stated the problems facing primary, and junior secondary schools in the State to include lack of teachers, instructional materials, furniture, payments of salary arrears as well as the implementation of promotion arrears amongst others, and called on the teachers to re- double their efforts in impacting knowledge to the younger ones.
” I call on teachers, government, and parents to join hands in order to move the educational sector better.
