NCDMB, FIRS hosts Tax Awareness Workshop for oil and gas industry

Oil and gas industry stakeholders will be converging at the conference hall of the Nigerian Content Tower ,Swali – Yenagoa for a tax awareness workshop based on provisions of Nigeria,s Finance Act 2021 and other extant tax codes relating to research and development ( R&D )
Organized by the NCDMB in conjunction with the Federal Inland and Revenue service ( FIRS ).
The one day Workshop is intended to create awareness of tax incentives available to the Nigeria companies that invest in Research and Development ( R&D )
Over the years operational records show that organizations that invest on R&D outperform their competitors in aquisition of appropriate technology , project delivery and overall organizational capability ,including job creation potentials.NCDMB has consequently prioritized promotion of R&D culture among local and gas suppliers as one of the pilars of its supplier development interventions.
The workshop will commence at 9.30 am will have the Executive Secretary , NCDMB , Engr. Kesiye Simbi Wabote, as Key speaker ,While the Executive Chairman of FIRS , Mohammed Nami is to deliver a special address . NCDMB,s Director of Planing Research and Statistics
Mr Daziba Patrick Obah is scheduled to deliver the opening address.
Among the highlights are a presentation entitled” provisions of NOVICD on R&D operating model and imperatives for success ” to be delivered by Mr Abdulmalik Halilu, NCDMB,s General Manager Research Statistics and Development( RSDD) another entitled “Royalty potentials from Research Development” by Mr Ayo Akinduyite , an Associate Director PWC Tax line of services.Three panel session are also scheduled for the day.
