FATAL MOTOR ACCIDENT IN ABA COMMERCIAL CITY

The State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti promised to carry out a thorough investigation, to enable the state government ascertain the immediate and remote cause of such a fatal motor accident at that Waterside Bridge, in Ogbor Hill Aba, yesterday.

The Governor, who was represented by his Chief of Staff stated that, after visiting several hospitals in Aba, where the victims of the accident were being receiving treatment. He thanked God that those affected were doing well and expressed the hope that they would be discharged soon.
Saying that, what Happened is quite unfortunate, necessary investigations will be carried out and will like to find out both the immediate and remote cause of the accident.

 Pastor Caleb Ajagba who is the chief of staff said that, measures would be put in place, to forestall future occurrence including restricting the movement of heavy duty trucks from plying the road during day time, but at night. 

The Governor, who described the accident as very unfortunate and shocking as the sanctity of life is very important to him, stating  that the life of every Abian matters a lot to him. He assured the victims that the government would take care of their medical bills as well as ensure they get the best in terms of medical care. 

  Those that have injuries, that require surgery would be taken care of. So far, is about 11 of them that requires surgery. This means that, the present government in the state is caring.  And this is the emergence they never budgeted for. So it would not be appropriate to allow them to go through this pain and also the pain of looking for money to pay for hospital bills. so  being a very caring government, the state government have decided to take care of their medical bills and have communicated with the management of those hospitals and their Chief  Medical Directors, where the government visited”

He also promised that effort is being made to put all the deplorable roads in our cities in a good shape.

 Responding, the Medical Directors of some of the hospitals, including Prof. John Chikezie of the ABSUTH, Dr. Patrick Okolo of New Era Hospital, Dr. Emenike Chidi of Impact Hospital appreciated Abia State Government for coming to the rescue of the accident victims and assured that they are doing all they could, to ensure quick recovery of the victims. 

They described the condition of the victims as stable and expressed the hope that soon they would fully recovered and be discharged.

The hospitals visited include;
New Era Hospital, Impact Hospital, NISSI Hospital, Blessed Haven Hospital, GMP, Seventh Day Adventist Hospital and ABSUTH while the details of the 11 accident victims were documented for a proper follow up by the state government.
