Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb  Mutfwang has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Chief of Army Staff, Major General Chris Alli (rtd), describing it as an immense loss to the nation. 

In a statement in Jos, on Monday, Governor Mutfwang conveyed his deep sadness upon learning of the demise of the distinguished Army General and acknowledged Gen. Alli’s meritorious service to Plateau State both as a Military Governor and Interim Administrator.

Reflecting on Gen. Alli’s pivotal role during the 2004 State of Emergency, Governor Mutfwang fondly recalled the late General’s unwavering commitment to fostering peace and contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of the state.  

Highlighting Gen. Ali’s exceptional qualities, the Governor said his intellectual prowess and exceptional knowledge were brought to bear in promoting harmony across the country.

Governor Mutfwang described Gen. Alli as not only an outstanding Military General but also a loving husband and father whose absence will be deeply felt by the Plateau community and the entire nation. He stated that Gen. Alli’s enduring legacy of trustworthiness, service, and dedication to the nation, will be cherished eternally.

To the grieving family, Governor Mutfwang urged them to find solace in the knowledge that Gen. Alli’s selfless service has left an indelible impact on humanity. He noted that Gen. Alli lived a life of service and will be greatly missed.

On behalf of his family, the government, and the people of Plateau State, Governor Mutfwang extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of Gen. Alli and prayed for God to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.
