Plateau: I regret involving in kidnapping-suspect cries out as Police naps 18 suspects in Jos

A 27- years old Umar Adams of Angwan- Rimi community in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, said he regret involving on kidnapping business.
Adams, who was responsible for the kidnapped of 5 years old Hafsat Adamu, female and Umar Mohammed, male, both children of one Rayyanu Mohammed who reside in Nepa-Rafin Gwaza community of Jos North.
Unfortunately, luck depart away from Adams domain as he was caught and lynched by the angry mob, and it took the grace of God for security personnel to come to his
rescue.
The suspect told newsmen that he is a new comer in kidnapping business as he has never done it before.
Parading suspects in Jos Friday, the commissioner of Police Plateau State command, CP Emmanuel Adesina revealed that on 27/07/2024 at about 2:30pm while acting upon intelligence report received by the Command, “our men at the Laranto Division rescued and arrested one Umar Adams, male, 27 years of Angwan Rimi while he was about to be lynched by an angry mob along Nepa-Rafin Gwaza village of Jos North LGA.

“In the course of investigation, we discovered the suspect is responsible for the kidnap of one Hafsat Adamu, female, 5 years old and Umar Mohammed, male, 4 years old both children of one Rayyanu Mohamed, male of same address. As a result of the beating he received from the angry mob, the suspect sustained serious injury on his head and was rushed to the Hospital for medical attention while the victims were rescued and handed over to their family unhurt.
“Exhibit recovered from his possession includes; the cash sum of One Million, Four Hundred and Ninety Two Thousand Naira (N1,492,000.00) only which was paid by the victim’s family as ransom”, CP Adesina stated.
The Police commissioner further confirmed that 18 suspects were apprehended in connection to various crimes and criminality across the state.
He also said all suspects will be charge to court once the Police have done with investigation.
CP Adesina assured the Command’s readiness to intensify the fight against crimes as he appeal for more collaboration from members of the public.
