The On Going Africa Military Games, Male, Female Marathon, Tanzania Clinches Gold Medals

As the Africa Military Games 2024 Proceeds, yesterday a Marathon Race was organized, Tanzania clinched Gold Medals in both men and women 42.19 kilometer marathon race. The race featured 19 female athletes, and 24 male.
In the female category, Magdalena Crispin Shauri of Tanzania clinched Gold Medal in the female category with the time of 2:36.29. Private Cheptoyek Ruth of Uganda took second for Silver Medal with the time of 2:41.07, while Sergeant Chebet Emily of Uganda came 3rd for Bronze with the time of 2:44.10
The race attracted over 100 athletes from 11 countries namely; Tanzania, Ethiopia, Uganda, Algeria, Congo, Ghana, Kenya, Libya, South Africa, Senegal and the host county, Nigeria.
The race started very early in the morning on Saturday from 6 a.m at the City gate to airport road before turning at Aco estate at 17.5km. it continued for 21.19km before voice of Nigeria (VON) for 30.5km, through magic land, to the Church gate traffic light for 37.5km.
They then made U-turn to Olusegun Obasanjo way down to the next traffic light by Bolingo Hotel, turn to Kukwaba road, down to the National Hospital and then back to main bowl of the MKO Abiola Stadium for 42km.
Speaking at the venue, Chief of Defence Staff, General CG Musa who Congratulated the winners and presented medals to them.
