FCT 50th anniversary: Event Focuses Landmark Infrastructure, Projects -Wike

The Minister of FCT Barrister Nyesom Wike has announced that the FCT administration will observe a low-key celebration of its 50-year milestone, focusing on results rather than pageantry.
Minister stated that while inspecting landmark infrastructure projects in Abuja as the city marks its 50th anniversary.
The road projects which is being handled by Chinese Geoengineering Construction (CGC), include the Arterial Road N16, Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX), and access road to the informal sector in Wasa District.
Wike expressed satisfaction with the quality of work, noting that OSEX and N16 projects will be completed by May 2026, while the Wasa access road will be done by August 2026.
In addition, Wike confirmed that the recent industrial action by FCTA workers’ union (JUAC) has been called off, following a successful meeting with the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and union leadership
