ABIA GOVERNMENT PREPARED TO HAND OVER APPOINTS TRANSITION COMMITTEE MEMBERS
May 29 Handover: Abia State Government Appoints Transition Committee

The Abia State Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu of has approved the appointment of a transition committee members headed by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Barr. Chris Ezem.
The Transition Committee of the Governor elect will be headed by Rev. Father Christian Anokwuru.
This is facilitate a smooth and seamless handover of power and for the sake of interfacing with top members of Dr Alex Otti team.
Rev Father Christian Anokwuru is the provost, Madonna College of Health Technology (MACOTECH) Olokoro,, Umuahia an inner caucus of Otti Campaign Council during campaigns at the just concluded governorship election.
The Chris Ezem Committee is expected to ensure a seamless transition of power from the outgoing administration to the incoming government of the Governor-elect, Dr Alex Otti.
Ikpeazu, in a statement signed by the SSG, named the 23 members of the committee to include commissioners for works, environment, public utilities, information and strategy and Commissioner for Homeland Security among others
The members of the committee according to the statement are to be sworn- in on Tuesday 18th of April, at the Deputy Governor’s office in Umuahia.
Speaking, Rev Father Christian Anokwuru (PhD) said the composition of Alex Otti team was perfect and cut across all strata which include politicians, technocrat, academicians, etc.
He said from governor Ikpeazu list there are also quality and prominent people that include professors,, Business men commissioners among others.
He said Dr Alex Otti has already taken proper documentation of the needs of the state which captured every sector of the state economy while adding that
the assignment given to them is not a jamboree but a serious one that will enable them look critically and make quality recommendations to the blue print and manifesto.
He reiterated that because of the quality he saw in Dr Otti over the years he has been there for him and has been optimistic that he will one day govern Abia .
Father Anokwuru who is also the Director of Investment Catholic Diocese of Umuahia told people not to be surprised that his name appeared in both governor Ikpeazu list and that of the governor elect list, he said it was Dr Alex Otti that submitted their names to Governor Ikpeazu for a seamless handover.
Answering questions on the peoples expecting on Otti 100 days in office, he said “we are not going to judge him in the next 100 days, Otti is not a magician and we do not expect him to do magic, the task ahead is enormous.
I am assuring you that he will do well, he is prepared for the job, I assure you that he will disrupt the system, but be rest assured that Abians will be happy, he has already promised to clear backlog of salary arrears and pension, includes the leave allowance and promotion areas
