Sen.Wamakko Vows To provide Quality Education to newly students of North West University Sokoto

The founder and proprietor of the newly established North West University Sokoto, Sokoto State, Sen. Dr Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Sarkin Yamman Sokoto has affirmed his full commitment towards providing an exceptional experience that will foster knowledge, excellence and towering achievements to the newly admitted students of the institution.

The distinguished Senator was speaking on Saturday during the maiden matriculation ceremony for the 2022/2023 Academic Session held at the University Ground located at Kalambaina Area of Wamakko Local Government of the State.

Dr Wamakko, who also represents Sokoto North Senatorial District stated that the cerebration is a special milestone as the institution was established with a desire to carry out researches and new innovations technologically to wider its scope to compete with other sister universities in Nigeria.

Dr Wamakko further said that, the University is ready to roll out excellent services and unparalleled educational experience by combining academic rigour with practical skills, critical thinking as well as holistic development.

“For us, success goes beyond individual achievement. We measure success by the positive impact to our students and graduates will have on their respective fields and on the society at large.

“To realize this vision, we have assembled a distinctive Faculty, with expertise in various disciplines,” Sen. Wamakko averred.

Distinguished senator stressed that, the University has the state-of-the-art facilities, to conduct technoligically-driven researches to give a world-class educational experience.

He said that the institution is committed to becoming a centre of innovation and research advancement.

According to this press released by SA Media to senator Wamakko, Bashar Abubakar, the University will create research centres and institutes that will focus on pressing regional issues, such as sustainable development, healthcare, agriculture and technology.

He charged the newly admitted students of the university to use the opportunity that comes to them maximally.

He also called on them to participate actively in all academic activities, participate in research projects, collaborate with colleagues and participate in exra-curricular activities that fuel their passion.

On his part, the executive Governor of the State, Dr Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, while congratulating the founder and proprietor for establishing the University, reaffirmed the State government’s commitment in uplifting the education standards in the State for the overall development of all.

Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto announced that the state government will sponsor 85 qualified indigenous students to study at the University as part of government’s effort to partner with the institution.

Alhaji Aliyu commended the management of the University for the dedication towards ensuring the provision of quality and standard education to the students of the institution.

Also, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Ahmed Maigari Ibrahim, said the institution is a full- pledged private university licensed by National University Commission (NUC) in 2022.

He further said that, the University has three faculties, with fifteen (15) departments and a students’ population of about two hundred.

The Vice-Chancellor, thanked the founder and proprietor of the University, Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, which he said the University came into reality through his unwavering effort and support.
