Hausa ScavengersVandalise Secondary School in Imo

Hausa Scavengers have been accused of vandalizing Comprehensive Secondary School Nekede (Old road) in Owerri-West Local Government Area of Imo State.
Speaking with Journalists at the School compound one of the teachers in the school who represented the Principal and who did not allow his name to appear in print said that the building of the school numbering four blocks were all vandalised by the Hausa scavengers carting away all iron doors, windows, and other fittings in the school building.
He however urged Imo State government as a matter of urgency should come and fix those iron doors, windows and other fittings vandalised by these scavengers for academic activities.
Commenting, an eye witness account
said that the scavengers came with all source of iron instruments used by Welders and Iron benders to carried out the share vandalism of the Comprehensive Secondary School Nekede.
“Initially people thought that they were coming to renovate the school, not knowing that they were criminals, the youths of the area would have intercepted them but thought that they were working for Imo State government”
In the same vein, a resident in the area who gave his name as Chief Paul Igboanugo stated that the Hausa scavengers took advantage of abandoned Nekede(old road) which make the place inaccessible for normal traffic except for those Hausa boys who parade in their numbers and enter ditch places, waterlog roads, dump site and inaccessible thoroughfares.
He implored the Security Operatives to beef up security and surveillance on the government facilities, not only to stop the gallowphagus Hausa scavengers, but to give protection to the Satellite Communities around Owerri whose roads are in total disrepair that you cannot possible access such as Old Road Nekede in Owerri-West Local Government Area of Imo State.
Meanwhile one of the Community vigilantes who pleased anonymity revealed that they have caught over seven Hausa scavengers popularly called (Iron condemn) who stole building materials parked in uncompleted building, and who pulled down electric polls destroyed it and removed the rods used to mould the polls, and those who removed the chairs supplied to the school during the former governor of Imo State Senator Rochas Okorocha destroyed those chairs and took the iron frame in the area and were handed over to Nigeria Police for appropriate action.
“And now we have seen that police have not taken any action against them, we shall resort taking laws in our hands as an option to stop this criminal tendencies in the area “
