Troops Overrun Terrorists’ Camp in Zamfara, Rescue Five Kidnap Victims
Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have overrun a makeshift terrorist camp in Zamfara State and rescued five kidnapped victims during a counter-terrorism operation in Anka Local Government Area.
Security sources disclosed that the operation was launched following credible intelligence indicating that a group of terrorists riding about 10 motorcycles had been sighted in Kawaye and were moving toward Tungan Kudaduku.

Acting swiftly on the intelligence, troops deployed on a fighting patrol to intercept the terrorists. On making contact, the soldiers engaged the criminals in a fierce gun battle, forcing them to abandon their position and flee into the surrounding area due to the superior firepower of the troops.
A follow-up exploitation of the area led to the discovery and destruction of the terrorists’ makeshift camp at Tungan Kudaduku, where five kidnapped victims were found and safely rescued.
The rescued victims were evacuated to safety, while troops have continued to dominate the general area with aggressive patrols aimed at preventing the terrorists from regrouping or carrying out further attacks.
Military authorities reaffirmed that Operation FANSAN YAMMA remains committed to sustaining offensive operations against terrorists and bandits across the North-West, urging residents to continue providing credible intelligence to support ongoing security efforts.
