BREAKING: Brig Gen Mohamed Buba Marwa Celebrates 72 Years of Transformative Leadership

Today, September 9, 2025, marks a significant milestone in the life of Brig Gen Mohamed Buba Marwa (rtd) as he celebrates his 72nd birthday. A man of uncommon grace, Marwa has left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s history through his transformative leadership and dedication to public service.
Marwa has remarkable career spans through multiple roles, including Military Administrator of Lagos State, Defence Adviser at Nigeria’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations, and Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
His achievements are a testament to his visionary leadership and commitment to excellence.
Sighting his key achievements, according to the agency NDLEA director Press Dr Femi baba Femi revealed how he transformed Lagos State by Introducing the iconic “Keke Marwa” tricycles, revolutionizing public transportation and providing affordable mobility for Lagosian. In the area of Security Reforms he was able to Launched Operation Sweep, a joint security task force that drastically reduced crime in Lagos State.
General Marwa went further to infrastructural Development which Spearheaded Operation 250 Roads, rehabilitating key infrastructure and improving the state’s transportation network.
Part of his faint strides is in Education and Housing Establishment, he constructed Lagos University College of Medicine and numerous housing estates, providing relief to thousands of families.
Presently as a Man incharged of NDLEA Transforming the agency into a vibrant and effective force in the fight against narcotics, with landmark convictions and international recognition .
Marwa contributions have earned him numerous accolades and awards including,
*National Honours as a Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) and Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR).
He has also earned Chieftaincy and traditional titles across Nigeria .
Also received Honoris Causa, four honorary doctorate degrees
