Cholera outbreak in Imo:Expert proffers solution

A renowned Medical Consultant at Chinyere Medical Centre(CMC)Dr Nwosu has said that Scientific approach is the best option for the treatment for out break of Cholera in Imo State
Speakings with journalists yesterday at his consulting apartment in Owerri, Imo State, he highlighted that Cholera is an acute infectious disease caused by the Spirillum Choleroe asia-ticoe from inflected water.
He said that this is followed by profuse diarrhoea,muscle cramp,suppression of urine, and severe prostration, adding that the act of creating an active immunity that is resisting power of the body to the toxin of invading bacteria demonstrated by the presence in the body of neutralising antitoxins.
“The most acceptable approach over the administration is injection of vaccine which is more active and also introduction of antitoxic Sera which is also passive in its nature.”
Nwosu further urged the government to sanitize Environment and ensure there is running tap in every community, stressing that food vendors should cover their food very well and individual should wash their hands with soap before touching anything that goes to the mouth.
It could be recalled that yesterday five Cholera victims have so far been recorded at Owerri Municipal Council in Imo State.
