FG Approves N8.6Bn for TETFund

Federal Government of Nigeria under President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the sum of N8.6 billion for the Tertiary Education Trust Fund(TETF) to increase the research Fund under the National Research Fund (NRF).
Speaking on the occasion of the 33rd Convocation ceremony of the Federal University of Technology on December 4,2021through the Minister of State for Education Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, the visitor said TETF has established Centres of Excellence in several Universities and also working on the draft bill for the establishment of National Research and Development Foundation
He highlighted that the Federal Government has continued to demonstrate its priority in advancing Science and Technology in Nigeria, adding that FUTO is among Four existing Federal Universities of Technology in Nigeria that have been earmarked for upgrading and re-equiping which according to him, validate their commitment in boosting Science and Technology Education in Nigeria.
“The Federal Government is also committed towards providing adequate jobs and ensuring safety of lives and property for the citizens as well as providing enabling environment for private sector to thrive and in spite of economic downturn that has befallen not just Nigeria, but the entire global Community, we are determined to continue providing opportunities to enable our young Ones develop their Skills and talent for good of community at large.
