The Vice Chancellor Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) Professor (Mrs) Nnenna.N.Oti has stated that the University has Graduated 4,412 Students for the 2019/2020 Academic Session.

Speaking with journalists for the 33rd Convocation Ceremony of the University at the Senate Chamber FUTO yesterday, stated that 4,032 got First Class Degrees while 380 bagged Higher Degrees.

She said that 64 Students had First Class Honours, 1,399 bagged Second Class (Upper Division) 2,278 also got Second Class Honours (Lower Division), 250 got Third Class Honours, 2 had Pass,
while Unclassified Degree(Doctor of Optometry) were 39, added that 42 bagged Ph.D, 219 had M.SC, M.TECH, M.PH, M.ENG, MBA and 119 for PGD.

Speaking on the performance of the students she said that the best graduating student for the 2019/2020 Class of graduands is Osuigwe, Chisom Henry of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering with the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.96.

She highlighted that some of the achievement includes establishment of a Collage of Medicine, with proposition for a Teaching Hospital, School of Electrical Systems Engineering Technology (SESET),

Others include:
School of Logistics
and Innovation.
Technology (SLIT), Centre of Excellence on Local Materials Substitution, Recovery of FUTO Lands, and Full Accreditation of Nine (9)Engineering Programmes,and School of Pharmacy,

Oti however said that the University has provided 24/7 Electric Power supply, built Student Hostels, Classrooms ,Lecture Theatres,Digitalize student records and Results, Provision of Solar Street lighting ,Expansion of Internal roads and Rehabilitation of existing ones and more importantly the University Perimeter Fencing.
