The embattled Staff of Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) has said that the Gubernatorial and State House of Assembly elections in Imo Stated on Thursday March 16, 2023 when they were called to thumbprint those ballot papers caught with hidden APC thumb printed ballot papers by Police.
Speaking at INEC Collation Centre Owerri-North Local Government Area of Imo State after apprehension by the Nigeria Police, revealed that they did not do it on their own but on the instruction of the Resident Electoral Commissioner(REC)Professor Mrs.Sylvia Agu whose command the ballot papers were released to them.
The arrested election fraudsters implicated Imo State Government Officials in the gross, shoddy and unprecedented electoral malpractice in the state.

Hope Uzodimma’s embarrassing rejection by Imolites continued on Saturday March 18, 2023 across the 27 State constituencies where election held, as Imolites defied intimidation, harassment and inducements of all sorts to vote for candidates of political Parties other than the APC.
He said that from Aboh-Mbaise to Ideato North, up till the governor’s home of Oru-East, Imolites once again demonstrated their revulsion for a man who steals their rights to freely choose their leaders, harasses them and maims those who dare to stand on his way. Even with the voter apathy across the State, the APC was not able to buy off voters on their side, as real results of the election show that the Party suffered embarrassing defeats, in at least, 25 of the 27 constituencies of the State.
“As I predicted severally, Uzodimma deployed thugs and rogue security agents across the State to harass and intimidate voters. When they found that their strategy of harassing voters and offering them money to vote for APC candidates was not working, they resorted to using these agents to abduct INEC ad-hoc staff, hijack voting materials and impose fake results. INEC officials were forced to upload fake results in most places, and even in places where real results had already been uploaded on the IREV, Uzodimma’s thugs, in desperation, still went ahead to declare APC candidates winners”
Jones further hihhlighted that in Nwangele LGA, the arrogant and lawless Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly allegedly ordered his thugs to shoot a young man for trying to resist them from tampering with the election process. This young man, I learnt has lost the battle for his life. Mr. Amarachi Iwuanyanwu who was briefly detained by the a combined team of security agents, was swiftly released on the unlawful order of Hope Uzodimma.
“What the illegitimate government in Imo State is succeeding in doing is to leave Imolites with no option but to resort to self-help or at most, lose any little faith in government and all its agencies. When a people are harassed and stolen from by the same agencies paid with tax payers money to protect them and the sanctity of their voting choices, then, they would have been made to understand that their loyalty to law and order is a total waste of time”
He reiterated that no matter the results they have either forced or induced INEC officials to announce for them, I am glad that Uzodimma and his goons understand clearly that they do not have the mandate of Imolites and they couldn’t even extract that mandate by force or buy it with money. It may take ages or even generations for this seemingly endless criminal inhumanity and terrorism going on Imo State to be redressed but I am comforted by facts of history these despots do not last forever.
Similarly, the Governor of Imo State senator Hope Uzodmma has congratulated I NEC and the elected candiates of APC across the 27 LGA Imo State House.
