HUMANITARIAN: Wamakko Shares 10,000 Wrappers/Cash To Women In Sokoto

The Senator representing Sokoto North senatorial district, Dr Aliyu magatarkada Wamakko, has in his usual mein doll-out over ten thousand wrappers and cash to women, ladies and girls to commemorate this year SALLAH celebration in Sokoto state.

According to press released by the new media aide, Bashar Abubakar, the philanthropist, the illustrious son of Sokoto califate that the former governor of the state personally distributed the Sallah packages to the beneficiaries of young girls, ladies and old women, among others.

In his usual characteristic, Dr Wamakko every year during the month of Ramadan do give out such gifts mainly to the less privileged in the society aimed at cushioning the effect of poverty among the people in the state,” he added.

In respond according to Special Assistant on New Media, Bashar Abubakar, in an interview was conducted, some of the beneficiaries expressed their delight at the gesture, describing Wamakko as one of the exceptional leaders who cares/assist the needy in the society. Saying, “Wamakko is one leading examples that commits himself to such gestures on annual basis during the Ramadan period,” may Allah bless him!”

They thank and prayed to the Almighty Allah to reward him abundantly and increase his wealth, so as to continue to help the have-nots in the society.

In another development, the distinguished senator has facilitated the released of 50 inmates from the Sokoto Correctional Centre.

As a Chairman, Senate Committee on Defence and Deputy Chairman, Senate Committee on Anti-Corruption, Sen Wamakko said “the move was a step in his annual gesture to the people during the last ten days of every Ramadan”.

A statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Hassan Sahabi Sanyinnawal, said the inmates were released after the settlement of their judgment debts, fines and compensations by the Senator.

Out of the 50 freed inmates, six are women, while 35 were from the Custodial Centre, Sokoto, and others were from different satellite Custodial Centres across the State.

Speaking while releasing the inmates, the Welfare Officer of the Sokoto Custodial Centre, ASP Ayyuba Alhassan, commended Dr Wamakko for sustaining the invaluable perennial gesture
