Insecurity:Imolites,FUTO Community call for Redeployment of Imo Commissioner of Police, Commandant 34 Field Artellary Brigade Obinze

Imolites and Federal University of Technology Community Owerri, Imo State have called on Defence Head Quarter and Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu for urgent redeployment of Commissioner of Police Audu Gaba Bose and his canter part, Commandant 34 Field Artellary Brigade obinze for allegedly Shielding Fulani herdsmen in Imo State

Community Leader from Owerri – West Local Government Area of Imo State who gave his name as Chief Cosmas Azuatalam said that recently over hundred of Fulani herdsmen struct Eziobod kill and wounded many people a stone throw to the Army Barack, Imo State Police Command yet they did not respond immediately

He further revealed that last two weeks these bandits killed people Including a vigilante at Eziobodo and also kidnapped Federal University of Technology female student and hidden her at the forest between 34 Field Artelliary Brigade Obinze and FUTO University, the Community, the parents of the student called on the Police, Commandant, yet the student was not released until ransome of Five million naira was paid.

In the same development a member of the Student Union of the Federal University of Technology who pleaded anonymity said that Students have all ran away from the Hostels and are lamenting on why Nigeria Security Left bandits to over run Federal University of Technology Owerri despite the presence of 34 Field Artelliary Brigade Obinze and Imo State Police Command in the neighborhood.
“We are threatening to boycott lectures and seek alternative to our Security since the government Security are looking the other way round.

In the same vein Chief Pius Okere from Ngor-Okpola also stated that recently the Communities in the Area alerted the Police about the invasion of Kaduna Mafia at Community located at Aba- Owerri road, the Police did not come to the Scene untill they abducted Aba bound bus dragged them to the bush and collected their moneys, belongings and absconded.

He further projected that the Command has gone to far away Mbaise and busted
Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Camp and arrested the Ring Leader and paraded him before the Press at once but all the mayhem that have been going on across the Twenty Seven Local Government Areas of Imo State orchestrated by the Fulani herdsmen killing people, raping, kidnapping, burning Houses,destroying farm land amongst others yet no single arrest has been made.

He further reveal that the recent mayhem that occurred at Eziobodo, Ihiagwa in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State where over six people have allegedly killed four kidnapped including the female Biology Student of Federal University of Technology Owerri FUTO the information was transmitted to Police in real time but yet the bandits succeeded by receiving the sum of five million naira as ransome, for one months now yet no single arrest has been made by the Police, Army, NSDC Commands in the State, this is a clear evidence that Nigeria Army, NSDC, Police are allegedly Shielding the Fulani herdsmen.

He also disclosed that recently Local Vigilante at Nekede Owerri-West nabbed two Scavengers suspected to be Kaduna Mafia an alleged faction of Buko Haram in age bracket of 30-38 year old with AK 47 and and after confessional statement revealed that they were gun runners employed by the Fulani herdsmen located at Federal University of Technology forest between 34 Field Artelliary Brigade Obinze in Owerri-west Local Government Area of Imo State and handed them over to Police yet they were not paraded and the next day allegedly sighted at their brother’s shop popularity called Abubakar at Nekede Old road Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State.

“This Kaduna Mafia has been operating in Imo State since three years, recently when they machetes Owerri Youths in there numbers we went to the leader of Housa Fulani Community in Imo State Sarki Awal Baba Ibrahim who confirmed the existence of Kaduna Mafia and said that the Mafia were made up of Youths from Housa, Fulani, Benue and Cross River and that they have arrested good number of them and handled them over to Police for appropriate action”

He stated that allegedly the Fulani herdsmen who carried out the mayhem at Eziobodo Ihiagwa and Umuchima in Owerri West LGA some of their bikes have been sighted at Hospital junction, at Port Harcourt Road, Polytechnic junction and at Ama-Housa Douglas Road Owerri Imo State, where there are stationary Army Vehicles guiding them and every Friday during their jumat prayer block Doglas Road the only road that connected the State with other States of the Federation like Anambra, Abia, Port Harcourt, and Akwaibom States yet the Army, Police allowed them.
Infact they want our State to be like Borno, Benue and Jos where insecurity is ravaging the States.

Similarly Dr Oguchi Opara from Eziobodo in Owerri West LGA in his own contribution said that what is happening in Owerri West LGA is terrible, you can imagine we have 34 Field Arte Brigade Obinze, but every time Owerri West will be the Center of action for those miscreants terorising the people of Owerri-west.

He urged the people of Owerri-west to organize themselves Community by Community and train Vigilante Service to protect their Communities for any eventuality, and he also implored FUTO management to stop the influx of Housa Bike Riders with in the University.

“In FUTO the number of Bikes are more than the number of students which has created easy way to attack communities surrounded FUTO.

In his own contribution Chief AK Ajonuma also revealed that when Imolites discovered the evils Anti-kidnapping Squad popularly call Tiger Base were doing allegedly killing the Youths and her vesting their organs in the State, the former Imo State Police Commissioner DIG Aboki Danjuma went and busted illegal mortuary at NgorOkpola and discovered over 120 mutilated corpses allegedly traced to Anti-kidnapping Squad popularly call Tiger Base, now this new Police Commissioner has quickly Changed the Tiger Base and replaced it with new name Violence Crime Response Unit VCRU with out investigating the Commandant and those allegedly accused as part of the Organ Harvesting with the fake Medical Director of the illegal mortuary popularly call Morocco who has been at large till date.

However Mrs Ann Odii said that the Fulani herdsmen kidnapped a young man at Ohi in Mbaitoli LGA and when the young man tried to resist herdsmen they stabbed him when the youths heard this they went after the herdsmen and killed one of the Fulani herdsmen and within ten minutes Police invaded Ohi and arrested over six Young men who are now locked up at the Criminal Investigating Department(CID)in Owerri Police Command.

“I am very sad that Army, Police and other paramilitary in Imo State are Conspicously protecting the interest of Fulani herdsmen in Imo, if you go to Izombe, Asaa,Awara in Ohaji/Egbema LGA Fulani herdsmen have sacked the Indigenes and occupied their Community farm land”

She further revealed that yesterday Fulani herdsmen have attacked Umuguma in the same Owerri West LGA of Imo State.

Meanwhile the former Governors of Imo State, Chief Achike Udenwa, Chief Ikedi Ohakim, Emeka Ihedioha and Senator Rochas OKorocha on different occasions condemned the dastard Fulani herdsmen activities in Imo State and charged the Law Enforcement Agents to be proactive and not reactive.

In his reaction the Imo State Commissioner of Police Audu Gaba Bose stated that he has ordered Immediate deployment of the newly established Violence Crime Response Unit (VCRU) to the effected areas including Eziobodo Ihiagwa in Owerri-west LGA, Imo State.

However, all effort to get the comment of Army Public Relation Officer(APRO) proved abortive.
