NAOWA President lead humanitarian services to IDP’s camp and Karu Orphanage, donated relief Items

The President of Nigeria Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA) Mrs. Salamatu Yahaya lead a team of officers wives in Charity outreach programs to Waru a village outstretched town off Appo mechanics village in Abuja to comment this year celebration of the Annual Nigeria Army Day celebration (NADCEL) 2021
The humanitarian outreach programs by members of the NAOWA was designed by the association to reach to the vulnerable persons and touch live as the Army prepare to mark this year Army Day Celebration which come up every fifth day of July.
The wife of Chief of Army Staff,accompanied by wive of the principal Officers and members arrived the Waru village before noon and were welcomed with a melodious song by the community to the delight of the visitors.
In his opening remarks,the FCT Chairman of IDP.Mr. Ibrahim Adamu praised the laudable efforts of the Nigeria Army in their fight against insurgency and the determination of the gallant officers to end terrorism in North east,while not forgetting the noble heart display by NAOWA by coming down to the community to Identified with the them
He said,”all hand must been on deck with prayer for the gallant military men for them to succeed in the fight against the insurgents and congratulate the COAS for his appointment.
He said,”the people are happy to have in you in our mist as you can see by the excitement on their voices and we are happy for all you have bring to us and hope this kind of visit will be a continuous one.
Addressing the people,Mrs Yahaya thank the community for their resounding welcome and saying,the item given to them may not be a enough as the donation is coming from the free contribution of the NAOWA members which is non governmental organizations but
urged them to make adequate used of the items given to them.
The NAOWA President stressed the need for child education and skills acquisition as a necessary tool for mother to cultivate to help themselves in situations they are.
Over thirty bag of rice,cartoons of items,gallons of vegetables oils,medical cosumerable,school materials and several hold house item were donated to the community.
Highlights of the occasion include the inspection of the community health center renovated and equipped by NAOWA,the donation of over fifty furniture desks to the primary school as the school was without desk for the past year according to the headmaster.
Two giant generator were also given by NAOWA to help the community pumped water from the bore hole tank.
The Waru Appo IDPs resettlement camp house about Five thousand three hundred and thirty six IDPs which were displayed from Adamawa,Yobe and Borno state respectively.
In Abuja Children Karu, the NAOWA team were received by Mrs Amina Abubakar,the chairperson of the Orphanage and a trustee member of the board of Karu Children Home.
According to her,the Abuja Children Home comment operations since 1995 and the home had trained over hundreds of children with support from government and other caring organizations.
She said, “we are delighted to have you in our mist today as your support to this home will go a long way to give hope back to our children with the caring displayed by your noble organization.
The team were also welcomed by a memorable song led by a five year kid who sang beautifully to the admiration of the visitors.
The wife of the CAOS also thank the staff and management of the home for steadfastness in managing the home and prayed the team will sustain such effort .
The President prayed for the repose of the director of the home who passed away few weeks back.
Items wroth over ten of millions Naira were presented to the home which includes mattresses,thirty bags of rice which Fifteen should be given to the staffs, school bags, medical consumable.etc
Highlights of the occasion was the commissioning of new blocks renovated by NAOWA and presentation of personal hygiene materials to the children by members of the team.
NAOWA is a non governmental organization established by wive of military officers to support their husbands while taking care of those wive who lost their husbands while in active service and it is run by contributions by spirited Nigerians who donate to support the noble works of the military.
