Nigeria 1st Lady, Sen. Olurime Tinubu donates N500m to 500 Plateau IDPs

Nigeria First Lady, Senator Olurime Bola Tinubu has donated a whooping sum of N500 million to 500 family affected by violent attack in communities of Mangu, Bokkos, Barkin Ladi, Riyom, Jos South and Bassa Local Government Areas of Plateau.
The gesture which is through the office of the first Lady, renew hope initiative, under social investment program will ensured each of the 500 family victims across the six local governments have access to benefit N1million.
While exhibiting a symbolic disbursement of relief and resettlement package to 500 displaced victims in Government House Little Rayfield Jos, Monday, Senator Olurime Tinubu said she is disturbed by wanton killings of innocent souls in Plateau, particularly the one that happened on the 15th May,2023 in Mangu LGA
“Recent incidence in various communities has left the trail devastation in the state. Lives and property were destroyed and countless families found themselves in distress without the basic necessity of life.
“In times like this this it is not not worth to sit down, we must take necessary actions to alleviate the sufferings of those affected and this is why were here today not only to sympathized with you but to offer our modest support.
“The administration of president Ahmed Bola Tinubu is passionate about dialogue and reconciliation among Nigerians that would foster lasting peace across the entire Nation.
“The financial support of the sum of N500 million is our modest support towards helping this families to secure shelter and other essential needs, and N1 million will be disburse to each of the 500 family under the social investment programme.
“In face of this challenges I urged you not to loose hope and I call on all well meaning Nigerians to offer assistance to IDPs not only in Plateau but other states in Nigeria to relocate to their ancestral homes and renew their hope”, she mentioned.
The first Lady prayed for peace and unity among Nigerians to overcome the challenges noting, ” our diversity is our strength.”
Governor Caleb Mutfwang acknowledged that Plateau state is fortunate that Her Excellency choose Plateau, a state control not by APC government but the opposition party to render such remarkable assistance.
“This has clearly shown that after politicking we must face governance. And governance is about the people and therefore we must govern with the fear of God.
“What we have done, Plateau people would not forget and by the grace of God Plateau will remain the ” Home of Peace and Tourism” though there are giants on our way but God will give us the victory.”
