Pan Nation Unveils Advisory Council Of Elders
By Daniel Agada, Jos
The Pan Development Association, PDA, in Qua’anpan Local Government Area of Plateau State has inaugurated its advisory council of elders.
Performing the inauguration recently at the NUT Hall,Doemak, Qua’anPan LGA, National President of Pan Development Association, Engr. Naankang Garba said the initiative behind Pan advisory council of elders (PACE) seeks to pool the resources, experience and commitment of Senior citizens from the Pan people to support and contributing to resilient, inclusive development of the Pan Nation.
Garba said Elders by virtue of experience play a vital role with well-shaped advices in driving economic transformation, social Integration and cultural promotion to greater participation.
According to him, “these contributions do not only enhance the local sphere but have multiplier effect in global value chains and in catalysts industrial upgradation; that is to say, our agricultural trajectory need to be reinvented to attain food sufficiency and associated incomes as an example.
“Also It is indisputable that we are at a time of multiple challenges, the need for our people to be able to adapt to the new industrial revolution, the digital economy as well as the changing global policy environment with rising protectionism and shifting trade preferences to the global perspective stands mandatory for 21st century living.”
The Pan National President further revealed that, while dealing with the burden of poor infrastructural provisions, rural to urban drifts in search for a better life, the unemployment and underemployment burden in our local communities, security and political inclusion.
“These challenges require the wisdom of you our esteemed Elders and the Strength of our youths. We are here univocally to ask of your advice and every God given capability bestowed on you to enrich the pan people. Together I know we are not a senseless contradiction but a necessary paradox.
“It is necessary to clear any perceived notion that this is a close group. PACE is a group that will remain open to admittance of new members from the Pan nation with proven track records of meritorious service towards the wholeness of humanity and its extant society. It is not bound by any creed but the fact that you must come from the Pan extraction.
I wish to end with a quote from Gwendolyn Brooks which says
“We are each other’s harvest; we are each other’s business; we are each other’s magnitude and bond.”
“We the National Executive of Pan Development Association inaugurate you to the Glory of God and the service of the pan people.”
