PDP Declares IMSGH Unoccupied, Inaugurates Rainbow Coalition Campaign Council
From Marcel Duru, Owerri.
The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Imo State, Senator Samuel Anyanwu has declared that the Imo State Government House, otherwise called “Douglas House” is unoccupied, thereby restating the illegitimacy of Chief Hope Uzodimma, whose controversial declaration as governor of Imo State in 2020 caused ripples that are yet to settle across the country.
Anyanwu made this statement in his final remarks during a highly successful and well attended inauguration of the governorship campaign council of the Party, tagged, Rainbow Coalition Campaign Council, as it comprises of critical leaders from different political blocs across the State, including; the Rescue Mission led by former governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha, Grassroots Development Forum (GDF) owned by Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, Divine Mandate Organisation, owned by Distinguished Senator Ifeanyi Ararume, and other major political blocs and Parties.
The Secretary of the Campaign Council is the immediate past State Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Chief Marshal Okoroafor Anyanwu.
The Director-general of the validation organisation, Hon. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, who was unavoidably absent at the inauguration sent his goodwill message to members of the council and the Party, assuring them of total victory for the PDP in the forthcoming governorship election.
Ikenga, the Chairman, House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream Sector) expresses confidence in the chances of the PDP to wrest power from Hope Uzodimma, whom he describes as “an incompetent and insecure individual, who has no business being in leadership position”.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the Party in the State, Chief Charles Ugwuh thanked members of the Party for their consistent show of faith in piloting theq affairs of the Party and assured that the Party is on a good footing for victory in the coming election.
He appealed to members of the Party who might still harbour some grievances to return to the Party and help her retrieve power from the “anti-people administration currently holding the State to ransom through bad governance”.
A key feature of the inauguration was the presentation of a report by the Party’s Reconciliation Committee headed by Chief Hon. Bonny Ebili.
Ebili in his speech assured that the candidature of Senator Samuel Anyanwu shall guarantee easy victory for the Party at the polls and as well restore Imo to a path of progress, prosperity and peace.
He implored the Chairman of the Party and the State Working Committee to ensure the implementation of his recommendations of his committee, to further enhance the cohesion existing in the Party before the election.
Senator Samuel
Anyanwu also assures members of the Party and all Imolites that he shall run an all-inclusive administration when elected as governor on the 11th of November.
He reiterated his call for Imolites to come out en masse and cast their votes, as machineries have been put in place to ensure that every vote counts, and any attempt to subvert the will of Imo people shall be vehemently resisted.
