S A urges IMSU SUG to Mobilise Votes for Reelection of Uzodimma

The Special Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodimma on Secondary Education Management Board, Prince Ezeala Ferdinand Akano, has urged the students of Imo State University, to mobilised votes for reelection of Imo State Governor for second term in Office.
He further implore them to eschew all forms of violence, cultism and exam malpractice in order to be good ambassadors of the university and Imo State.
Prince Akano made this call when the leadership of the 18th Republic Students Union Government of Imo State University, Owerri, paid him a visit in his office.
According to Prince Akano, “The current Governor of Imo State has shown good faith towards the development of Imo State University, Owerri. This he has done by the prompt payment of the salaries and emoluments of the university lecturers; even during ASUU strike, the salaries were still being paid”. “This singular act”, according to him, “has motivated the lecturers to put in their best to ensure a conducive learning environment for students and researchers in the University”.
Furthermore, Akano stated, “there is no more flooding in the University Campus as a result of the disilting work that the Governor approved to be done on the Lake Nwaebere, which hitherto was a nightmare for inhabitants and students in the Campus. The Governor has also rehabilitated the Imo State University Water works. Governor Hope Uzodimma has made it possible for Medical students, who had spent 12 years to be graduated from the Imo State University College of Medicine and inducted as Medical Doctors in addition to attracting medical equipment and other infrastructure to aid accreditation of courses and faculties in the University.
“When you put all these achievements on the table and place the Governor side by side his opponents”, Akano said, “you don’t need any soothsayer to direct you that your votes and those of your teeming undergraduate constituents should go to His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodimma on 11th April, 2023”
The President of the 18th Republic SUG Government of Imo State University, Owerri, Comrade Okwaraji Chidera, who led other executive members on the visit, stated that they were on the visit to tap from Akano’s wealth of experience in Students’ Unionism and Alumni Management, having been an erstwhile arch Comrade and immediate past President of Imo State University Alumni. He pledged the loyalty of the the Undergraduates to the University Management and the Government of Imo State.
The SUG leadership, on behalf of the Students Union Government, presented Prince Ezeala Ferdinand Akano with an Award of Honour, for his outstanding contributions to the development of the students population.
