Salah Homage: Sen Wamakko receives Emirs of Gwandu, Argungu

The Frontline leaders of APC from Sokoto State, Sen. Dr Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Sarkin Yamman Sokoto, has hosted with great delight the Emirs of Gwandu Alhaji Muhammadu Ilyasu Bashar and that of Argungu, Alhaji Sama’ila Muhammadu Mera, both from Kebbi State Nigeria who paid him a Sundry visit at the just concluded Sallah celebrations in his residence at Gawon Nama, Sokoto.

The Senator, while receiving the Royal guests expressed joy for the visit of the powerful delegations.
Alhaji Wamakko explained that their coming is an indication of the long standing mutual and cordial relationship which exists between the two states.
Earlier, the Emir of Argungu informed Senator Wamakko that they came to Sokoto state to felicitate with him over the completion of the Ramadan fast and at the same time to rejoice with him and the Governor-elect, H.E. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto for the recent victory during the last Presidential, National/State Assembly and Governorship elections in the State.

He informed the Senator that both the people of Sokoto and Kebbi States have been together as brothers for ages.
The Emir emphasized that the visit was to congratulate him over the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, 1444/2023, as well as to congratulate the Governor-elect, Hon. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto on his election victory.
Even though, absent at the occasion for obvious reasons at the visit, Royal Highness Emir of Gwandu, was ” ably represented by the Emir of Argungu.

His Royal Highness, Emir of Argungu Alhaji Sama’ ila was accompanied by all the Council’s Chiefs from both Emirates.
The Emir prayed the Almighty Allah to continue to grant more prosperity to both states, as well as divine protection.
On his part, Alh. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, the Governor-elect, while addressing the August visitors, also lent his voice in support of Sen. Wamakko, appreciated the two traditional rulers for the good understanding among them and prayed Allah to continue to help them in discharging their duties.

The delegates were led by an amiable Galadiman Garin Sokoto, Alhaji Aliyu Attahiru Galadanci Sokoto to ‘Sarkin Yamman Sokoto’ Alh Wamakko’s residence.
Present at the event were; Sokoto State Governor-elect, Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, former Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Republic of Tanzania, Amb. Sahabi Isah Gada, DG NTI, Prof Musa Garba Maitafsir and some members of both National and State House of Assemblies, amongst others
