Senator Ned Nwoko’s Scorecards Amidst Concerted Steps to Improve the Lots of the People

The Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Sen. Prince Ned Nwoko on 8 May 2024 held briefed Delta North Journalists, practising in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), where he disclosed that he’s a member of 17 committees in the nation’s upper legislative chamber.
He expressed his desire to use the opportunity of serving in those committees to attract development to his people.
The committees are
- Anti-corruption and financial crimes
- TETFUND
- Works
- Drugs and narcotics
- Finance
- States and Local Governments
- NDDC
- Youths and Sports
- Police
- Primary Healthcare Development and Disease Control
- Defence
- Communications
- Environment
- Upstream Petroleum
- Gas
- NEPAD
Speaking passionately, Sen. Ned Nwoko noted that his membership of these committees will help him a lot in bringing development closer to his people.
He also stated that he had moved 18 motions, and 23 bill in the house.
He identified portable and clean water as the most important need in his Senatorial District, and said that he’s working hard to ensure that the Ogwashi-Uku Dam is completely constructed, because over 60 communities will benefit from it.
He added that when completed, the dam, will facilitate all year farming, and attract mechanized farming to the Anioma people.
The Distinguished Senator recalled an incident in Onicha Olona, Aniocha North LGA, where a family was arrested for allegedly manufacturing and repairing guns.
He said, he intervened and four of the family members were released, while efforts to free the remaining three are ongoing.
” I have met with the people in authority, because there is a need for us to be producing, and have our own guns for self defense, instead of arresting them.
“Many youths will be gainfully employed by helping those people to construct and repair guns. We will have our own guns for self defense.
“The guns will be licensed so that the bullet will be traced to the guns if anything happens,” the Senator opined.
He also talked about the insecurity in his Senatorial District.
According to him, “that we suppose to have our own licensed guns to be able to defend ourselves In case of any attack.
