Soldiers Rescue Abducted Victims After Terrorist Attack In Zamfara
Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued two persons who were attacked and abducted by terrorists along the Anka–Gadan Manya Road in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The successful rescue operation followed a swift response by the troops after they observed armed terrorists attacking two individuals travelling on a motorcycle on September 4, 2026.
According to military authorities, the troops, who were conducting a routine patrol in the area, immediately mobilised and moved towards the scene after sighting the attackers.
The troops’ rapid intervention forced the terrorists to flee into the surrounding terrain, abandoning their victims at the scene.
The rescued persons were subsequently secured by the troops, bringing the incident to a successful conclusion without further harm to the victims.

Following the attack, security forces intensified patrols and other operational activities across the general area to deny terrorists and other criminal elements freedom of movement.
The intensified operations are also aimed at strengthening security along major routes and protecting residents and other road users from further attacks and abductions.
The military said the sustained presence and aggressive patrols by troops remain part of ongoing efforts under Operation FANSAN YAMMA to disrupt terrorist activities, protect communities and restore freedom of movement across affected areas of Zamfara State.
The latest operation underscores the importance of proactive patrols and rapid military response in countering attacks and preventing terrorists from carrying out further abductions in the region.
