The New Director General of the World Trade Organization Dr. Ngozi Okonjor-Iweala on a working visit to Nigeria by Century News Update
Dr. Ngozi Okonjor- Iweala arrived Nigeria yesterday on a working visit. She resumed office of the Geneva-based WTO on 1st of March 2021 as the first Female, and African to attain such a position in 25years.
Addressing the Newsmen at the Nnamdi Asikwe International Airport, Abuja on Saturday, said she has come to the Country to see how she can assist Nigerian Entrepreneurs, and to improve the economy.
The 66years old former Minister of Finance stressed the need for Nigeria to be explore its share of trade in Africa, through the African Continental Free Trade Area agreement.
Dr. Ngozi who also said, she would meet with President Muhammadu Buhari, and a number of Ministers in the coming days.
She said her performance as WTO Chief, between March this year, and August 31st, 2025, will open doors for most African women to lead International Organizations.
Dr. Ngozi Okonjor-Iweala is a woman who’s so proud of being an African, and always wants to be identified as an African, by an African print, popularly known as Ankara.
