Troops Killed 8 Bandits In Plateau

The Military, codenamed Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), has reportedly killed about eight notorious bandits in Sabongari village of Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State on Sunday night.
It was gathered that the incident occurred in a joint operations between the Military, Vigilante and hunters who have been working together to flush out bandits and other criminal elements in the locality.
It was learned that the joint operation by the military and other unconventional security outfits that left no fewer than eight bandits terrorizing the area death started on Saturday and lasted throughout Sunday evening.
Speaking with our correspondent, Abdullahi Usman, a resident of Wase Local Government said the military and the bandits clashed in Zurak and Yaddi Lawan which was taken over by the bandits and served as their base, the security overpowered the bandits, burnt down their structure and reclaimed it.
Usman said” Some of the bandits were killed while others have ran out of the community”.
Spokesperson of the Operation SAFE HAVEN, Major Ishaku Takwa, confirmed the incident and said 8 bandits were killed during the operation in the area.”
Recall, communities in Wase local Government Area had been under siege as a result of banditry activities for the past few weeks.
