We have deliver on our promise to Plateau people-INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), said they have delivered its promised made to Plateau citizens on free, fair, credible and transparent elections in line with the mandate actualization of the commission.
Plateau state Resident Electoral commissioner, REC, Dr.Oliver Agundu gave the hint Thursday, during the official presentation of certificate of return to the governor and deputy governor elect and 24 House of Assembly members elect,held at the INEC headquarter Jos.
Agundu acknowledged that,as an individual and even more as the head of the INEC here in Plateau state he is optimistic and proud to say that they have delivered on their promise to the good people of Plateau.
“Since my assumption of duty as the Resident Electoral commissioner of Plateau on the 7th November, 2022 I have consistently and explicitly in all meetings and engagements with leaders of political parties, traditional rulers, civil society organizations (CSOs), nongovernmental organizations(NGOs), the media community and all stakeholders promised to provide within the jurisdiction of job description a level playing field for all political contestations.
” Today, I can proudly say that in good conscience and testimonies of the vast majority of Plateau citizens we have delivered on our promise and we are here to officially handover the baton of accountability and responsibility to the winners of the most transparent electoral process we were privileged and honored to serve as midwives”, He stated.
REC also challenged governor elect and members state Assembly elect not to betrayed the mandate people reposed on them.
“All of you here today because of a transparent process and responsible electoral management. I therefore enjoin you and also challenge you to ensure at all times that the government of Plateau state under your watch is conducted and anchored on transparency and responsibility to the people.”
Our correspondent observed that amongst those who received certificate of returned from INEC is Barr. Caleb Mutfwang and deputy governor elect Ngo Josephine Piyo.
Others are 24 state Assembly members in which 16 were from PDP, 7 from the ruling APC and 1 Young People Party (YPP) respectively.
