Why I am vying for Plateau football Association chairmanship-Ex former NFF board member, Kwande

The former board member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Hon. Suleiman Yahaya Kwande, said he is determine to revolutionize affairs of soccer in Plateau if elected as chairman of Plateau State Football Association, PFA.

Kwande, who was a former member representing Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, stated that having served for twelve years as NFF board member and chairman finance committee under Amaju Pinnick led administration, he possessed what it takes to change a narrative of football administration on the Plateau.

Our correspondent reports that, the normalization committee  headed by hon.Audu Yakal Buba set up NFF executives to conduct elections for a new board in Plateau, fixed 19th October, 2023 for the conduct of the election.

Hon.Kwande who spoke to newsmen in Jos, when he was cleared by the committee revealed the rationale behind his ambition.

“It is because of the passion and the drive to change the narrative of football administration on the Plateau which is the reason why I am vying for the chairmanship.

“Even though people thought football is for passion and recreation, but I want to assured you that football is money, it is a big business….

He assured to built a sustainable relationship and collaboration with the government, teams and academics to make a difference.

“We focus attention in developing football from the grassroot by engaging government to ensure the sustainability of Governor’s cup tournament across the 17 local government area of Plateau.
We will revive female football, disable para-soccer which has come of age.

“I intend to run an open door policy, try to be transparent and maximize every single kobo and resources that entered into the coffers of PFA, making people have confidence on us by protecting their interest.

“Were not going to witch hunt anybody but is very sad to heard teams saying we don’t have confidence on the PFA, by the grace of God if I got the mandate I want to make a difference….”
