Outgoing Plateau House Speaker Says Have Forgiven those who Illegally Impeached Him

The outgoing Speaker Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon. Abok Ayuba said he has since forgiven 8 of his colleagues who he said illegally impeached him.

The Plateau 9th Assembly speaker admonished the incoming 10th Assembly members to take advantage of their autonomy to make laws that are beneficial to the people of the state and Nigeria as a whole.

Rt.Hon. Abok Ayuba who spoke to newsmen over the weekend at the Assembly complex in Jos, after a validatory session to round off 9th Assembly plenary, revealed they have worked gallantly to achieve so many things.

“I so much appreciate God because He is the giver of leadership and He gave to whosoever He chooses.

“Of course I came with a mindset to worked for the betterment and progress of Plateau which I still hold, and I worked gallantly for.Today I have no regret that I stood for fairness, equity and justice.

“The 9th Assembly were able to achieved autonomy for the Legislature and the Judiciary which is very key achievement because the two arms of government were independent. Yes, were punished because of some of those things, but, of course every human being on earth is learn in the process of living”, the outgoing speaker stated.

He acknowledged that his biggest regret was that he could have work more than what be have done.

“We came as learners I could have wished we know how the game was from the beginning, we could have strike since from the first day in office. But in life you don’t regret the process of learning. So, all that we went through is the process of learning in life.

“When they illegally impeached me, we didn’t fight them, but, rather remained patiently and went to Court, and graciously the Judiciary virtually look over what has happened and they reverse it.

“To me I sincerely forgiven them. In life whether you like it or not people would hot you. I am a Christian, and all the prophets from Genesis to Revelations none of them left this world without saying been hot by people of this world even they are trying to help.

“Jesus Christ that came to this world without asking for food from any body but He was punished and killed. So, who are may to say that I am not going to forgive. I have forgiven them since. Live is a circle which it has bring us together….

He also appreciates all members of the 9th who believed and fight for justice as well as Journalists, civil society organizations, and the entire staff of the state Assembly for their support.

He equally commended Plateau people and elders both within and outside the state for standing in the path of truth during the state Assembly crisis.

Our correspondent learned that the Plateau state 9th passed about 74 Bills into Law from 2019 to June 2023.
