Gov. Alex Otti have the Right in Making His Appointments – Abia Labour Party Chair BY BENJAMIN KALU, UMUAHIA
Governor Alex Otti have a right to make his appointments.
The Abia State Labour Party Chairman,
Mr Ceekay Igara who is also the chairman of the council of chairmen of the labour party, nation wide, made it known, when he was interacting with some journalists in his office, at the party state secretariat in Umuahia.
Igara while speaking on issues of the crisis in the State House of Assembly on last Thursday, the 6th of July stated that, what ever is happening in the State House of Assembly, is their own personal law, which is not bigger than the Nigeria constitution, stating that, what ever that is the rule of the house, that the Nigeria constitution is important now.
The state Labour Party chairman described the all 8th state assembly members, as almost new, stating that the party is not in support of any crisis in the State House of Assembly, but it was with understanding and the support of other parties members in the house, that the labour party able to produced the speaker, and other important positions in the house.
According to Mr Igara, the support of the YPP and that of APC, the labour party now becomes the majority in the State House, was able to produce a majority leader, instead of PDP, and called on the members of the PDP, the State House to work in harmony with other members for the interest of the State, as the present administration in the State major concern is a good governance and not for leadership, as it used to be in the past.
He stated that anyone that has any conflict with the Nigeria constitution, the constitution must surely take it’s cause.
For the party members, who are not happy, towards the appointment, that has been made so far, he reminded them, that everybody can not appointed at the same time, making it clear, that the appointment is a gradual process, that it is one after the other, and advised their party members, to wait for their turns, while they keep moving. Assuring that the governor is a listening Governor.
He said, he remembered how he intervened in the issues of the market management committee members appointment, for their party members and advised his party members to exercise patience, as every Abians, are going to experience a good governance in the State.
Assuring that governor Otti is not going to relent on his promise to all Abia residents.
