The Chairman of a Pro democracy Group South East Democracy watch Barr Ezechukwu Uwandu has called on Security Agencies and Parties for the November elections to shun violence or pay dearly for any attempt to hijack the process.
Speaking in Owerri, Imo State recently he said all Criminal Machineries imported to Imo will have themselves to blame adding that
their resolution is to ensure transparent and credible elections in the south East.
He further stated their collaboration with security agencies to ensure that no one riddles the election with violence is conclusive.
“We wish to inform all Security Agencies of our alloyed cooperation during the November elections in the south east,
and also dedicated towards ensuring transparent, free and credible elections in the region”
Uwandu opined that South East election watch reminds participants and candidates for the November elections in the south east to remain within the bounds of the extant laws guiding the exercise.
“All froms of malpractices will be found and reported to relevant authorities and
all criminal machineries imported to imo to cause security breach or malpractice against the elections will have themselves to blame and be arrested and prosecuted”
He call on all the Security Agencies to be alert for imported criminal machineries, and
also warned hotels and hospitality managements not to allow their premises as hideouts to conduct illicit activities.
Uwandu highlighted that Such premises and inhabitants will be seen as conspirators and Immidiately arrested and will be prosecuted under section 517 of the criminal code act.
