From Marcel Duru
Owerri
A Pentecostal pastor based at Obinze in Owerri -West Local Government Area of Imo State who gave his name as Pastor Johnson Amama has called on Imo State Government of Senator Hope Uzodimma to investigate the activities of Cattle dealers at Obinze Cattle market
Speaking with Journalists at Rock View Hotel Okigwe road, Owerri Imo State recently he disclosed that the number of missing persons and kidnapping in Owerri may be more alarming than that of Lokpanta at Umunneochi, Abia State
He revealed that the number of people usually dragged to the slaughter area of the market occasionally at odd hours in the night call for serious investigation, adding that those Cattle dealers at Lokpanta in Abia State also have branches at Obinze Cattle market so the possibility of replicating activities at Lokpanta is there.
“There was one night I heard someone crying begging their abductors to allow her make a Call to her parents for urgent massage but they refused and dragged her towards the slaughter area and at a point the voice faded, and I kept vigil till the next day I did not seen any body came out of the area.
I Suspected that something must have happened to the voice and I have been calling police telling them what is going on at the Cattle Market Obinze.
Amama however suggested that Obinze Community through the Local Government Council appoint Youths who should be stationed permanently in and around the slaughter area so as to ensure that only cattle are being killed at the slaughter house.
Similarly bereaved philanthropists in Owerri who pleaded anonymity told Journalist that he went to Obinze Cattle market and bought a caw and told them to kill it for him there, but very ironical that they did not allow him to the slaughter.
“Since that time I have started to suspect the activities of the Cattle dealers at Obinze cattle market, they have mystified the area and made it fearful for any body from other tribe”
