The automatic payment system introduced by Dr Nasir Sabo Idris in the state internal revenue system was something to write home about
He has clinically,anthropologically and intellectually clean up all the mess in the revenue system of Jigawa State and introduced a globally acceptable standard of revenue collection services
Jigawa State board of internal revenue system has been transformed to greater heights via engagement of all critical stakeholders in accordance with best practices and regulations and effective guidelines
And another key achievement under Dr Nasir as executive chairman was the establishment of Jigawa state integrated Tax Administration System (JIGTAS). The newly introduced JIGTAS enabled digital enumeration and registration of taxpayers, online assessment and generation of e-invoice and e-recceipts, provision of varieties of payment channels and maintenance of a reliable taxpayers Data base across the state
Electronic platforms were equally introduced for the collection of levies and fees from business and MDAS of government agencies and ministries across the state
Unique payment ID and QR code were successfully introduced across all stratification for collection purposes to be improved,maintained and sustained for better governance and improved economic growth and stability of Jigawa state
State adopts new approaches to tax collection through amendments of some tax existing laws and legislation guidelines and services delivery system to enhanced proactive revenue collection mechanisms to adopt presumed tax over regimes among smaller businesses
Reduction of tax grievances and tax operational mechanisms by 50 percent among businesses and MDAs
State equally subsumed business related government charges,fees and taxes into consolidated demand notice (one time payment for a year in which DLR is first achieved up to three consecutive years
Publication of numbers of collection on the state website for effective transparency and prudent financial management services
