Troops of 248 Reconnaissance Battalion OPFY Repel Terrorist Attack, Recover Rustled Livestock in Sokoto

Troops of the 248 Reconnaissance Battalion, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have repelled a terrorist attack in Badiya Village, Shagari Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

The troops acted on credible intelligence about suspicious movements in the area and engaged the hostile elements with superior firepower, forcing them to withdraw into the surrounding terrain.

According to the military, the terrorists abandoned a large herd of livestock believed to have been rustled during the encounter.

The recovered animals were subsequently returned to their rightful owners in a brief ceremony facilitated by the Chairman of Shagari Local Government Area and the local District Head.

The military said the intervention was aimed at restoring normalcy, protecting local communities and supporting efforts to safeguard livelihoods in the area.
