Advocates For The Establishment Of Special Courts In Bauchi… Justice Cluster

In a move to ensure proper application of due process,rule of law and respect of fundamental human rights among the rape victims across Bauchi State.
During the meeting in Bauchi with critical stakeholders forum,the SGBV have called on the relevant authority to established special courts to take care off all rape cases pertaining minors and with the view to avoid unnecessary delayed in the dispensation of equitable justice or legal remedies within the ambit of criminal Justice code or system.
It has become necessary and glaringly clear that considering the iota of justice in the provision of the law sighted in the violence against persons prohibition(VAPP) law of Bauchi state
Critically and fundamentally stated that where a case of rape minor attracts death penalty or sentence by hanging in which the magistrate court cannot apply
In another development the executive Director of the Ikra,foundation Hajiya Amina Garuba of Bauchi based civil society organization for youths and women development made the call that all stakeholders ranging from religious bodies,politicians,lawyers,media among others should join hands with SGBV justice cluster to ensure total eradication of rape cases among minors In Bauchi state and Nigeria at large she made this known during media parley titled”sexual And Gender Based Violence justice Network Cluster Program”
During the media parley many critical issues related to rampant rape cases across the society were fully discussed,analyzed with the view of finding sustainable legal solutions across Bauchi state.
Mrs Amina Garuba equally called on all stakeholders across the board to support the campaign against rapes among the minors
She also added that harsh penalties should be applied against the offenders with critical view of finding legal remedies
The program focused to achieved quick dispensation of criminal Justice delivery across the state and the SGBV resolution across Nigeria on related issues with focused on critical components such as sexual harassment,gender based violence,child abused,early marriage,forced marriage among other factors in our contemporary society.
This medium reveals that this justice network is an advocacy cluster under the USAID which was equally funded to strengthening civil society advocacy and proper legal engagements(SCALE) led by lawyers Alert
