All Cards Are Valid Till Date~ INEC Commissioner

The Independent National Electoral Commission（INEC） Resident Commissioner in Delta State, Rev. Monday Udom has said that all registered voters card in the State are still valid till date. This was made known by the Administrative Secretary of the Commission, Dr. Monday J. Hezekiah, who represented the commissioner when a group of NGOs and CSOs visited the Commission
According to the commissioner, 315, 389 persons have been registered so far in the 73 registering points accross the 25 LGA in the State. Speaking further, he said there are 17 polling units in Asaba including the Ogbeogonogo market and June ending remains the last day for registeration, hence the massive rush in the number of people coming to register adding that only citizens that are 18yrs and above are eligible to register
Dr. Hezekiah also said that there is a new innovation in the electoral process now with the introduction of the BEAVER which is faster and will also capture the authentic facial look of voters. He said electronic transmission of result means that results will be transmitted electronically as soon as it is counted and not the usual manual recording which allows for manipulation stating that voters card is now available for those who registered in the first quater of the year. He then advised the people, especially the youth to go out and perform their civic right by voting and not get themselves involved in thuggery, violence and stuffing of ballot boxes
Earlier on, the leader of the delegation and the CEO of Total Care For Peace And Development Initiative, Mrs. Philomena Badaki said that the purpose of the visit is for partnership and to support INEC in ensuring that people register for their Permanent Voters Card （PVC）as a lot of people have still not registered because of the nature of their job, while some are due to shear ignorance. She then called on the Commission to provide logistics to other places such as, hospitals, churches, Secretariat and the likes for easy access to registration
