Intending Muslim pilgrims for the 2022 Hajj to Saudi Arabia have been strongly warned to steer clear of any criminal act before, during and after the exercise while in the Holy land if they want to come back to Nigeria.
The warning was given by the Chief Judge of Bauchi State, Justice Rabi Talatu Umar while addressing all the intending pilgrims at the Conference hall of the Abubakar Sa’ad Hajj Camp.
She emphasized the need for the pilgrims to be law abiding citizens and good Ambassadors of the country stressing that the laws over there in Saudi Arabia are very strict and harsh on any offender.
The Bauchi Chief Judge who is a member of the 2022 Hajj Committee stressed that security agencies in Saudi Arabia do not look at faces while enforcing the law saying that the best option is for one to strictly obey the laws.
According to her, “when you misbehave, the authorities will apprehend you, deal with you in accordance with the relevant laws of the land. You will become an embarrassment to not only yourself, your family but Bauchi State and Nigeria as a whole. Therefore, be careful”.
Rabi Talatu Umar also warned the intending pilgrims not to accept plea for luggage assurance from anyone no matter how familiar because according to her, many have been put into trouble through such.
She said that, “Do not accept to assist anyone with luggage particularly after you must have been cleared and ready to board. Such a person may have a dangerous item in the bag and if you are found with it, that is your end”.
“Don’t go with banned substances, not even colanuts are allowed in Saud Arabia. Don’t use hard drugs, avoid anything that will put you in trouble. Don’t give out your money to anyone for changing, all such can put you in trouble”, she stressed.
Rabi Talatu Umar concluded by advising the intending pilgrims to averse themselves with all the instructions given to them during the orientation period and use the officials attached to them during the period of the Hajj operation.
According to her, “All the officials you see in uniform have been well trained to guide and assist you throughout the Hajj operation, feel free to approach any of us anytime and anywhere you need assistance, that is the only way you can have a successful Hajj and come back home safely”
