Bauchi To Partner UNESCO In Empowering Girls , Women For Growth, Development

Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir has said that the empowerment of the Girl Child and women across the state remains his administration’s utmost priority for sustainable growth and development.
The Governor was speaking when he received in audience, the Head of Culture, UNESCO Regional Office, Abuja, Mrs Adele Nibana under the UNESCO Japan project on empowerment of girls and women in marginalized communities in the state.
Bala Mohammed was represented by the Chief of Staff, Government House, Dr Aminu Hassan Gamawa said that development partners such as UNESCO are assisting his administration in achieving a lot in the critical sectors of the economy.
According to him, “From the combination and constitution of my cabinet, I ensured that all sectors including women were given significant proportion for sustainable growth and development” .
He also said that his administration has initiated empowerment programs across the 20 LGAs all in the bid to give people, particularly women as sense of belonging.
Bala Mohammed also told his Guests that his administration has improved School Enrollment Particularly among Girls requesting for continued support from donor agencies and others in the educational sector.
Earlier, Head of Culture, UNESCO Regional Office, Abuja, Mrs Adele Nibana Commended the State Governor for his various efforts in empowering Women and Girls, Pledging the Organisation’s support always.
She told the Governor that they were in Bauchi for the closing event for the Japan – UNESCO project on empowerment of women and girls in marginalized communities for better well being through enlightenment.
