Borno bombing: Police engages stakeholders to avert occurrence in Plateau

Sequel to the recent bomb blast which claimed many lives in Gwaza, Maiduguri, Borno state, Nigeria Police Force, NPF, Plateau State Command have engaged stakeholders to avert similar occurrence in the state.

Commissioner of Police Plateau State command, CP Emmanuel Adesina who is addressing stakeholders on the nationwide security threat Wednesday at Police Officers Mess Jos, tasked all and sundry to prioritize safety measures.

Commending citizens participation in security and governance, the CP expressed delight with religious leaders for protecting their worship centers.

He charged Plateau citizens to continue cooperating security agencies for effective service delivery.

Special adviser to the governor of Plateau on security matters, Brig Gen. G.G. Shippi retired, acknowledged that Mutfwang led administration will engaging all stakeholders as far as peace and security is concern.

He assured government determination and desire of continues clearance of slum for effective governance.

Enumerating some of the safety measures, commander of Anti-Bomb Squad, Nigeria Police, Superintendent of Police, Barde Jonathan, said components of EOD and known but lack consciousness of people around us some time the major problems leading to detonation device.

“Those we less expect are the ones carrying such explosive devices. We have to be mindful of people dressing abnormal coming to worship places and other social gathering.

“Security awareness is our collective mandate, and the essence of living in peace with one another on the Plateau is paramount”, he mentioned.

The stakeholders while commending Plateau State government for ease of vehicular movement within Jos and Bukuru metropolis, they also raised concerns and appealed for government intervention over congestion caused by some fuel stations.

Our correspondent reports that, stakeholders present at the meeting including, religious leaders, security heads, National union of road transport workers (NURTW), market association as well as non governmental organizations.
