China Sanctions US And Canadian Citizens
In a tit-for-tat, China on Saturday sanctioned two Americans, a Canadian and a rights advocacy body, in response to sanctions imposed by the two countries over Beijing’s treatment of Uyghurs this week.
Two members of US Commission on International Religious Freedom, Gayle Manchin, Tony Perkins, and Canadian MP Michael Chong, has been bared from entering mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau, the Chinese foreign Ministry said.
China has been accused of forcibly sterilizing women, and imposing forced labour on at least one million Uyghurs, and people from other moslem groups.
Meanwhile, Chinese foreign ministry has accused US, and Canada of imposing sanctions based on rumours and misinformation.
