FG, Stop Persecution of Christians in Nigeria — Bishop Obinna

The Catholic Bishop of Owerri Archdiocese Bishop AJV Obinna has called on the Federal government of Nigeria headed by President Mohammad Buhari to stop with immediate effect the persecution of Christians across the nation.
Speaking to Catholic faithfuls at Asumpt Cathedral Owerri, Imo State recently he disclosed that sometimes ago there was a security alert by the SSS that there is a plan by bandits to attack Churches in the South East in particular and Nigeria in general which has been actualised by the Islamic Fundamentalist in recent times.
Obinna further urged the president and all others including the Senators, the House of Representative to take heed of the alarming signal which potent Civil war, adding that a nation that is not at peace with itself is an embattled nation.
“Right now Nigeria is at war with itself because we can’t agree,there is no common ideology or rather, ideology we have is mutual enmity, it can’t bring peace and harmony, it can only increase negative repercussions, we need a positive ideology that will hold all Nigerians together, not hatred– driven ideology “
He advised Christians across the country to be as wild as dogs but as wise as serpent don’t say somebody is coming to kill me and then you say come and kill me because you are a Christian.
Obinna stressed that every Christian should defend his or her lives in the event of Physical combat, implored Christians to arm themselves not for offensive war but for defensive war.
