Gov Bala swears-in SSG, Chief of Staff, 18 Returnee-Commissioners, 3 others

Bala Mohammed, the Governor of Bauchi state has sworn-in the newly appointed Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barr. Ibrahim Kashim, Chief of Staff Government House, Dr. Aminu Gamawa and his deputy, Bashir Ya’u, the Private Principal Secretary (PPS) to the Governor, Pharmacist Samaila Burga as well as 21 Commissioners.

Our Corresspondent reports that the oath of allegiance and oath of office was administered on the appointees by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Rabi Talatu Umar at the new banquet hall of Government House anext on Thursday.

Speaking during the swearing ceremony, Governor Bala Mohammed tasked the newly appointed officials to discharge their duties with fear of God.

According to Bala, the appointment of the commissioners and other top Government officials sworn-in were done after due and deligent consultations with stakeholders across the state.

Bala who said that the appointment of special advisers and other political positions would soon follow, adding that, “any one you have seen sworn-in today is competent because all of them were backed by their people and I will give them benefit of doubt for them to perform”.

Bala warned the appointees against sidelining any citizen of the state on the bases of political affiliation or to please him, adding that all the citizens have a stake in the government and as such, should be carried along.

The Governor said that the previous cabinet were not dissolved because of incompetency or corruption, adding that those who couldn’t come back may be call at any given time to serve in his Government.

Bala who said that the 21 Commissioners he brought on board are tested and trusted technocrats, hoping that they will work towards his success come 2023.

Governor Bala who thanked the state assembly for supporting his administration in the task of taking the state to the promised land, equally appreciated the support of the entire people of the state, praying God to continue to provide the required resources to deliver on his campaign promises.

Daily Times gathered that out of the 21 Commissioners, only three are new while the remaining 18 are all returnees who were relieved of their office three months ago.
