Group Urges Stakeholders To Decentralize Renewable Energy In Delta State

A Civil Society group, Clean Tech Hub has advised stakeholders in Delta State to develop a roadmap for the adoption of Decentralized Renewable Energy (DRE)
This was made known during a workshop meeting held at Top Rank Hotel, Asaba on Tuesday.
According to the resource person, Mr. Daramfon Bassey, the essence of the workshop is to domesticate Renewable Energy Policies in Delta State as well as highlight the various sectors for renewable energy adoption in the State
The participants identified various sectors such as Health, Education, MSMEs, Agriculture, and security as areas that need urgent attention for renewable energy adoption
At the end of the workshop, participants were divided into various group to highlight the problems militating against the adoption of renewable energy in the State some of which include, Funding, security, government bureaucracy, lack of professionals, corruption among others
Meanwhile, The other resource person, Mr. Abel Gaiya, has promised to forward the various challenges observed to the right authority
The programme was sponsored by Heinrich Boll Stiftung,(HBC) a German based organization that is specialised in climate change
The theme of the workshop is, driving renewable energy adoption at State level inception and the objective is to engage State actors to develop a road map for the adoption of decentralized renewable energy(DRE)in Delta State.
