Last Sunday, at the United Evangelical Church, in Umuaro, Obingwa local government area of Abia State. A member representing the people of Obingwa West in the State House of Assembly, Chief  Erondu Uchenna, celebrated his inauguration Thanksgiving service, attendance among them, were his colleagues in the State House of Assembly, including other important personalities in the State, some members of the state PDP.

The service which was held at his home church, United Evangelical Church, Umuaro, in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State,
 the Chairman, Umuaro Area Conference of the United Evangelical Church, Reverend C.C. Nwogwugwu, admonished leaders across the state and in the country in general, to accept and trust in the Lord Jesus if they want to be different in the political service.

Advising leaders across the country, to follow the way of the Lord, so that they can stand out in everything they do, Showing kindness and be good to the people they are leading and as that will make them to be happy in life. Be humble no matter the position you are occupying, so that you can last long in governance”, Rev., Nwogwugwu charged political office holders, to always seek the face of God.

After the Church service, Chief Erondu Uchenna, who is one of the ruling  Elders of the Church, thanked God who kept him healthy and alive throughout the period he served the former Governor of the State, Okezie Ikpeazu, adding that his joy knows no bound as he had a landslide victory at the recently concluded House of Assembly elections in the state.

Bearing his mind immediately after the service, when chatting with some journalists, he hinted that service to God and humanity
earned him the love, the people have showered on him since he indicated interest to vie for the State House of Assembly position and thanking God for seeing him through.

In his words, “I live a life of service to God and humanity I pray I’ll continue in that direction. I feel excited and fulfilled, as the presence and the hand of God is upon him. Assuring that the Lord will help them to make laws that will ensure the development of Abia State”.

Speaking also, the State PDP Chairman, Asiforo Okere, who described Elder Erondu as a gift to the party, expressed optimism that he will perform optimally owing to his track record of projects’ execution and humanitarian gestures.

Okere, while testifying that Erondu is humane and kind, urged him not to relent in his goodwill to the people.

In an interview with a member representing the people of Isukwuato in the State House of Assembly, Hon Lucky Johnson, others like Orji Chikezirim, expressed happiness and noted that they have no doubt that Erondu Uchenna will perform just as he pointed out, that the expectations of the people are that he will stand firm to legislative matters, represent his people well, bring back constituency projects and urged his constituents to give him undiluted support.

While some others who attended the thanksgiving service among the large crowd, included the formal commissioner for Information and Trade and Investment, Hon John Okeyi Kalu, came to catch a glimpse of the event, as that was a testament of the fact concerning Erondu’s positive impact on the people, which is massive, others noted that the show of love attested to his acceptability by his people.
