Imo State Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma has said that his Administration has spent Eight Billion Naira on Youth Empowerment so far in the State since his assumption of Office.
Speaking with journalists at the Government House Owerri, Imo State recently, he stated that the Empowerment captured over 20,000 Youths across the Twenty Seven Local Government Areas of Imo state who were trained on various essential Skills which includes Fish farming, Snail farming, Hairdressing, Tailoring, Barbing amongst others.
He disclosed that Imo State Government must at this time take a practical step in the Actualization of Prosperity Agenda.
“Our shared Prosperity Programme is not just a mantra, but a Manifestation of our revolve to empower Imo Youths, not only Economical but also Politically “
Uzodimma reiterated that his administration means every word when it talks about Empowering Youths as future leaders of tomorrow, adding that the Empowerment will also help keep Youths away from Social Vices and encourage them to take up the role of playing advocacy for peace on crime free Imo State.
Similarly, One of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftain in Imo State Chief Leo Abiakam said that for governor Hope Uzodimma to tell Imolites that he spent Eight Billion Naira on Youths Empowerment in the State was a Porous lie, an absolute falsehood which revealed that his Administration is not transparent.
He highlighted that if Governor Uzodimma has spent Eight Billion Naira, it will be for the Northerners who made him Governor and not Imo youths.
How can he spent Eight Billion Naira on Youth Empowerment while over 13,000 Workers excluding Pensioners in Imo State have not been paid.
